Dental Care with a SmileTM
In the general dentistry clinics, treatment is provided by Kornberg dental students who are closely supervised by licensed faculty.
Student-dentist Clinics
Adult general dentistry patients are assigned to one of four student-dentist clinics. These clinics function as a general practice setting for patients. You will be assigned to a clinic—1, 2A, 2B or 3—through which you will receive all of your dental care. Most care is performed by the assigned student in that clinic.
There are, however, circumstances for which the patient is referred internally to continue treatment in one of more of our specialty clinics. In the specialty clinics, treatment is provided by resident dentists or a member of the faculty practice, depending on the complexity of the case.
Student-dentist clinics are available to all patients regardless of income. The School of Dentistry has different fee schedules based on the type of provider (student, resident or faculty).
Dental care provided in the student-dentist clinics is closely monitored and checked by licensed faculty members. Therefore, the average appointment lasts two to three hours.
