The Kornberg School of Dentistry is dedicated to community outreach on a local and global scale. We value the community in which we exist, and are always exploring opportunities to serve our neighbors in Philadelphia and beyond. Our students and staff promote oral health education through a diverse range of programs and support underserved populations by providing low-cost dental care.
Community Clinics
Our community clinics provide the Philadelphia region with affordable, humanistic healthcare and educational opportunities. From the patient clinic in Northeast Philadelphia, to our partnership with Head Start programs at preschools and child care centers throughout the city, we seek to support our neighbors with affordable and comprehensive care.

Community Outreach
Kornberg partners with schools, nonprofits and other organizations in order to promote oral health and provide learning opportunities for high school students who may have interest in a career in dentistry.
In recent years, we have collaborated with Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church to provide oral cancer screenings during their annual Men’s Know Your Numbers event. We have also dedicated monetary and human resources to the Mission of Mercy in PA (MOM-N-PA), an organization that provides free dental services to underserved residents of Pennsylvania.
Other efforts, such as our annual Toy Drive and various efforts to feed the area homeless population, seek to strengthen underserved communities throughout Philadelphia.
We remain focused on inclusivity, and seek to continue expanding our reach in the community.

Global Days of Service
For nine days every year, Temple University alumni all over the world engage in service efforts in their local communities. Individuals sign up for a designated local service site, make donations or volunteer on their own for an organization or cause.
During recent years, Kornberg alumni have participated in Global Days of Service by hosting events in the North Philadelphia community where hot food was served and oral healthcare products were handed out. One such event was held at the community breakfast at the New Visions Methodist Church on North Broad Street.
