Who: Heidi Hau, PhD, VP, Scientific Affairs, and Henrik Bjørn Nielsen, PhD, CSO

Biographies:
Heidi Hau, PhD, leads translational scientific activities for Clinical Microbiomics, including scientific communications and external partnerships. Previously, she’s led cross-functional R&D and translational biology programs across pharma, biotech startups and Fortune 500 companies. She’s worked across scientific and business development groups and directed global external innovation leading technical due diligence for external partnerships that focused on microbiological and molecular-based technologies. Most recently, she led key initiatives to expand investigational microbiota-based drug platforms for the treatment of infections and chronic diseases. As part of this role, she managed investigator-sponsored clinical studies and the led the Translational Biology team responsible for integration of microbiome basic research, discovery and clinical research enabling new or improved scientific understanding of microbiota-based therapeutics and/or assessment of new pipeline opportunities.

Henrik Bjørn Nielsen, PhD, a distinguished figure in the microbiome realm, boasts a prolific track record in pioneering microbiome research. His outstanding contributions encompass groundbreaking work on metagenomic species identification and a Nature publication in 2016, linking microbiome, serum metabolome, and clinical data in pre-diabetic individuals. Dr. Nielsen's journey led him to Clinical Microbiomics in 2016, where he now leads scientific and innovative endeavors, collaborating with adept computer scientists and biologists. His dedication has culminated in over 23 papers published in eminent journals like Nature, Science, and Cell. Dr. Nielsen's leadership, amplified by education from Harvard Business School, steered Clinical Microbiomics from a 5-member team to a 100-strong powerhouse with 50 PhDs, driving impactful research and transformative solutions in the dynamic intersection of microbiomics, AI, and bioinformatics.

Who: Nur A Hasan, PhD, MBA President and CEO of EzBiome.

Biography: Dr. Nur A Hasan is a molecular microbiologist with subject matter expertise in microbial genomics, microbiome, molecular ecology, and infectious diseases. He is an accomplished executive with experience in strategic development of technology innovation in the biotechnology, and life science industries. Dr. Hasan holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in microbiology, M.B.A in Marketing, and Ph.D. in Genomics. His multidisciplinary research resulted in multiple patents, and numerous (100+) peer-reviewed scientific articles in the areas of microbial genomics, microbiome, molecular ecology, and infectious diseases. Dr. Hasan professionally serves at the editorial board of multiple scientific journals, and several prestigious advisory committees nationally and internationally. Currently, Dr. Hasan is leading EzBiome Inc, a microbiome solution company engaged in developing cutting-edge platforms, services, and solutions to empower precision microbiome research, and accelerate discovery and development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics to revolutionize microbiology and medicine.
