Dr. Jie Yang is Professor and Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Temple University Kornberg School Dentistry and with full clinical privilege at the School of Medicine. He earned his first dental degree in Shanghai, China and DMD at Temple University, USA. He went through two well-structured oral and maxillofacial radiology specialty programs, one at Peking University School of Stomotology, former Beijing Medical University, and another at University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He became a diplomate of American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) in 1996. Dr. Yang is currently North American Regional Director and Board Member of the International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology (IADMFR). He was Vice President and Co-Chair of Scientific Program Committee of the 16th Congress of IADMFR. He has served on America Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology’s Position Paper Committee (Currently Chair of the Committee), Research and Technology Committee, Newsletter Committee, and Nomination Committee. He is the Academy’s Official Representative to the American Dental Association’s Standards Committee. Dr. Yang has more than 100 publications (40 peer-reviewed articles and 69 research abstracts). Many of them were published in prestigious dental and radiology journals, such as American Journal of Neuroradiology, Investigative Radiology, Radiology, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology (OOOOE), and Dentomaxillofacial Radiology. He has supervised many international visiting radiologists or scholars. They were from Belgium, Brazil, China, Egypt, Japan, and Pakistan. He is editorial board member of OOOOE and the Chinese Journal of Dental Research. He is reviewer of many professional dental and radiology journals. Currently his research interests focus on Cone-beam CT and Ultrasonographic Imaging on Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases.
