US Transfer Students

Qualifications

Thank you for your interest in continuing your dental education at the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. Transferring between dental schools is difficult because of the diversity in curriculum structure and course sequencing. Faculty and administrators will ensure transfer students with Advanced Standing receive an appropriate curriculum that results in the same standards of competence required by students regularly enrolled in the program.

The only transfer requests that will be considered are from current students in good academic standing at a dental school in the United States or Canada. The Admissions process for transfer students is highly selective.

Applicants seriously considered for admission will be asked to provide a detailed course outline for each professional course taken. The outline will be analyzed by faculty to determine the extent to which the courses satisfy the dental school's requirements.

The final admission decision will be made by the Advanced Standing and Transfer Admissions Committee based upon the recommendations of the evaluating faculty. The level at which an applicant is admitted will depend upon the faculty's assessment of proficiency in the various disciplines. Baseline pre-exams maybe administered at the discretion of the course director or chairman.

A critical aspect of every decision will be the availability of space and resources. In consideration of this fact, even highly qualified applicants may be denied admissions.
