To actively promote research and scholarly work in the dental school, 2016 Science in Dental Practice (SIDP) Day will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016, between 1 and 5 p.m. at the Baptist Temple, home of the Temple Performing Arts Center.
All students, residents and faculty are required to attend the event at Temple University Performance Center. Kornberg School of Dentistry alumni will also be invited to attend.
The event will include research presentations on tissue regeneration by Dr. Maobin Yang, Assistant Professor of Endodontolog and by Dr. Peter Lelkes, Professor of Bioengineering at Temple University College of Engineering. Research poster and award presentations and a reception will be held. Students and faculty will be provided with subway token or parking permit.
All students, predoctoral and postgraduate students, and faculty are encouraged to submit research projects for the presentations. Students and faculty will compete for twelve monetary awards ($1000, $500, $250 in predoctoral, post-doctoral, faculty, and systematic review/case presentation categories). In addition, two national research awards (ADA/Dentsply and Hinman) will be given out to qualified students.
Research projects may include basic, translational, and clinical research, systematic review, and unique case presentations. The scholarly activities can be conducted inside the dental school, as well as any collaborative work with the HSC, the University, or other research institutions. Papers that have been published, presented since the last Research Day, or accepted for presentation in the upcoming national/international meetings are also qualified.
All students and faculty, who plan to participate in the poster presentations, as well as the competitions for research awards, must submit titles and abstracts to Ms. Cheryl Hreno (email@example.com ), Department of OMPMS (first floor) before February 26, 2016. The school will cover reasonable expenses to make posters at the Instructional Support Center.
Please make plans to attend and participate in the Science in Dental Practice Day. We look forward to seeing you there.
